More Movie News: Batman, Uncharted

Hey Guys! Sorry for the lack of updates, been up to my knees in… well, you get the picture. But anyway, 2 bits of interesting news today (I promise for more updates/news soon!) from the Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, and our beloved thief/treasure hunter, Nathan Drake in Uncharted the movie.

Rumor has it that Christopher Nolan (director of Batman Begins & The Dark Knight) will be using previously unused footage of Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight as a guest appearance in the sequel, The Dark Knight Rises. That has now been debunked. He will not be using any footage of Heath, which I think is good, because he killed as the Joker and let him rest in peace. Heath, til this day, I’ve never seen a better acting performance than what you did as the Joker. Nolan did give us a lil info though, that Tom Hardy (Inception) will be in the movie and will play a key role. As to who or what, good or bad, Nolan did not say. Judging by his pics, who could he be? Mad hatter? Nolan said no Riddler, but could that be misdirection? Killer Croc before he goes…killer? Penguin? Doubt it. As a good guy, I think he looks too old to be any of Batman’s allies. Or maybe he could just another politician somehow helping out Batman, like the new DA or something. Let the speculation begin!

Now onto Uncharted news… it looks like more bad news as the Director, David Russel, is changing Drake’s (the hero) story all together! Why mess up something that was perfect the way it is? We love Drake, although he can be considered a thief, a treasure hunter that kills people, you know he’s still a good person inside. Its his personality that makes him lovable. A cop?! cmon, thats freakin stupid.

While the Uncharted games depict Nathan Drake as a Indiana Jones/Mal Reynolds-style treasure hunter and adventurer, Russell’s movie will recast him and his hitherto unseen family as some kind of antiquities police. “This idea really turns me on that there’s a family that’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities,” he said. “[A family] that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice.”

The changes dont necessarily mean the movie will suck, but it wont do any fan service. To me, thats totally wrong. Why even use the “Uncharted” name. Its pretty obvious its to attract the fans. The story of the Uncharted videogame was never bad, so why change it? Its reported that Russel is already halfway done with the script and that its going remarkably quickly. Umm… Maybe because your script sucks? I now have NO… ZERO… NIL… expectations for this film. But who knows, maybe it will surprise me like GIJoe. GIJoe was surprisingly entertaining haha!
